A. Generally the first year is spent in dorms, but it varies per college. If students don’t live in the dorms, they typically live in apartments with a few classmates.

A. National Merit is scored on a state by state basis based on how the other kids taking the PSAT at the same time as you scored. The top 1% become national merit semi-finalist, and those with scores just a little bit lower than the top 1% become national merit commended. Q. What books are recommended for SAT prep?
A. There are many test prep books for the SAT – Princeton Review, College Board, Barron’s to name a few. There are also many test prep tutors and organizations available like Kaplan and Get Smarter Prep, it just depends on how your child learns best.
Q. When should a child start preparing for the SAT?
A. There isn’t a definitive answer to this question, it depends on the child. If they are uncomfortable taking timed tests in pressure situations then you should probably start early. If they are excellent test takers then you don’t have to rush it. The one thing that it may be a good idea to start at the beginning of high school is vocab.
